Driver License and Motorcycle Endorsements
FACT is an authorized Department of Licensing (DOL) Testing Facility for Instruction Permits, Motorcycle Endorsements, and Driver Licensing. Our office is conveniently located 10 North 10th Avenue in Yakima.

Driver License Testing
Driver license testing of both knowledge and skills testing is by appointment but can usually be conducted within one day of your call. Call our office at 509.248.2373 to schedule an appointment.
Knowledge Testing (Written Exam)
Knowledge tests must be completed before a skills test may be scheduled. Knowledge Tests are available in English and Spanish (Espanol) daily and in other languages upon request. To schedule your knowledge test contact our office during normal business hours at 509-248-2373..
We would strongly suggest that you read the Washington Drivers Guide completely before taking the Knowledge Exam. The Washington Drivers Guide is available in:

In recent years Washington DOL reduced the Practice Test online to 5 questions while increasing the written knowledge test to 40 questions. Unlike the previous versions every time you take the Practice Test at the DOL web site you will get the same 5 questions. However, to learn what to expect you can take the Practice Test English or Practice Espanol (Spanish) here.
Skills Examinations (Testing)
Skills examinations (Driving Tests) may be scheduled after sucessfully completing the knowledge test. You can schedule your skills test by calling our office at 509-248-2373 during normal business hours. To take your skills test you must have:
- A vehicle with a valid registration
- A valid insurance card
- All lights must be operational
- No broken light lenses
- No cracks across the windshield
Motorcycle or Sidecar/Trike Endorsements
Motorcycle or Sidecar/Trike Instruction Permit
To obtain a motorcycle or sidecar/trike Instruction Permit you must first have a valid Washington Drivers License then pass a 25 question Permit Level Knowledge Exam (Written test ) which can be conducted at our facility during normal business hours. This is now followed by a Skills Exam which we conduct at our range. We strongly suggest you study the Motorcycle Operators Manual prior to taking the Knowledge Exam. Walk-in exams are welcome.
Cost of the Permit Level Exams are:
- Written knowledge exam testing $30.00 (includes one free re-take).
- Skills exam $45.00.
- Both written and skills testing paid in advance $60.00 (includes one free knowledge re-take).

The Learners Permit is valid for 180 days and one renewal is allowed. This allows you time to practice on your bike and to prepare for your Endorsement Level Tests. This Permit Level Testing is included at no additional charge as part of our safety training class. Taking the test outside of training class requires that you bring your personal motorcycle to test on. Outside of a class, there is no practice and no coaching provided.
2 Wheel Motorcycle Endorsements
To obtain an endorsement: After receiving a passing score on both the Permit Level Knowledge and Skills Exam, you will need to take the Endorsement Level 50-question Knowledge Exam and the 2-run Endorsement Level Skills Exam with a passing score on your personal motorcycle. The Endorsement Level Knowledge and Endorsement Level Skills exams are by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling our office at (509) 248-2373 or emailing us at office@factsafety.com
Cost of the Endorsement Level Exams are:
- Written knowledge exam testing $45.00.
- Skills exam $45.00.
- Both written and skills testing paid in advance $85.00.
Sidecar/Trike Endorsements
To obtain your sidecar/trike endorsement you must:
- Have a valid Washington State Driver License;
- Sucessfully pass the knowledge test; and
- Successfully pass a riding skills test.
Motorcycle or Sidecar/Trike Skills Testing
Skills testing for two wheel motorcycle or three wheel trike and sidecars are conducted:
- By appointment only;
- Cost is $45.00;
- Participants must have an endorsement or instructional permit to legally ride their motorcycles to class or skills testing on public roads; and
- ALL participants must have registered with the office prior to testing.
